XT: Hu-Friedy’s Original XT Ultrasonic Insert
The original XT insert is uniquely suited for site-specific removal of calculus in hard to access subgingival areas–clinical applications similar to where a Mini Five or Micro Mini Five curette would be used. Strong enough for tough deposits yet thin enough to access tight areas with ease, the XT can handle tenacious deposits in deep, narrow or tight pockets.
The XT features:
- A long thin shank for extended reach and accessibility
- An extra thin, round tip designed to reduce tissue distension and ease gingival insertion
The XT is a great addition to clinical set-ups—it can readily become your “go to” insert for localized removal of tenacious calculus from challenging subgingival areas.
XT Triple Bend: New in 2015
Combining the thin sleekness of the original XT insert with the outstanding triple bend design, the XT Triple Bend features:
- A triple bend shank for top notch adaptability
- Beveled edges on the tip. Bevels aid in concentrating energy on edges, resulting in additional available power along that edge and allowing for more efficient removal of hardened deposits and stain.
- A thin profile: 24% thinner than the #1000 insert, allowing for enhanced subgingival access
The XT Triple Bend is versatile - It is ideal for patients with generalized light to medium supra and subgingival deposits and stain. And, for patients with heavy deposits, debride first with the #10 or #1000 insert and follow-up with the XT Triple Bend for access to remaining deposits and stain, particularly in interproximal areas and furcations.
