Description

The ConFirm™ Rapid Read 20 Minute Biological Monitoring System determines the efficacy of steam sterilization cycles in just 20 minutes. An enzyme-based detection system is used between the biological indicator and reader to provide the results. The ConFirm Rapid Read 20 Minute self-contained biological indicators can determine efficacy of commonly used steam sterilization cycles within 20 minutes when incubated in the ConFirm Rapid Read BI Reader. The compact, eight-well, tabletop incubator incubates and automatically reads the ConFirm Rapid Read 20 Biological Indicator (BI) and provides the results on its LCD display, eliminating the need to interpret results.

Intended for use of routine monitoring, qualification testing, and load monitoring of the following steam sterilization cycles:

  • Dynamic Air Removal 270°F (132°C) 4 minutes
  • Dynamic Air Removal 275°F (135°C) 3 minutes
  • Gravity 250°F (121°C) 30 minutes
  • Gravity 270°F (132°C) 15 minutes

  • Glass-free BI design ensures staff safety and reduces potential for injury from broken glass.
  • Post sterilization, a simple Twist & Flick activation of the purple media into the vial provides clear visual indication that media is present and reduces the potential of contamination from "over-activated" vials, eliminating the need for a separate activator device.
  • Each BI has a wraparound label that identifies the lot number and expiration date and is printed with a process indicator to distinguish between processed and unprocessed BIs.
  • The biological indicators consist of a plastic vial inoculated with highly resistant Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores and a specialized media sealed within the cap.
